
VXB Secures $4M Seed Round to Collapse Multi-Year Space Hardware Design Cycles into Days
The company's generative design platform, validated by an aerospace prime and a mega-constellation startup, unifies physics, materials, cost, and manufacturability into a single engine to return buildable and verifiable aerospace hardware designs in one to three days.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (July 14, 2026) – The hardware powering the space economy is still designed much as it was decades ago: one painstaking, manual iteration at a time. VXB is ending the wait with a generative design platform that compresses years of design validation into days. To deploy this capability across the industry, the company has secured an oversubscribed $4 million Seed funding round led by Dauntless Ventures, with participation from Fulcrum Venture Group, existing pre-seed investor Investible, and strategic angels.
Developing a single advanced satellite component, such as a propulsion thruster or a high-end antenna, regularly requires millions of dollars and months or even years of trial-and-error. That cadence is a survival issue for satellite operators waiting to iterate, manufacturers defending razor-thin margins in an oversupplied market, and defense planners who need systems adapted to new threats in real-time. How quickly these organizations can design, validate, and field new hardware now decide their competitiveness and resilience.
VXB’s generative design platform is the first to fold physics simulation, material composition, performance, cost, and manufacturability into a single optimization loop. Where legacy tools return abstract shapes that require months of verification, VXB evaluates millions of design permutations against electromagnetic, plasma, astrodynamics simulations and more to rapidly return a tradespace of buildable options, each optimized for the exact machinery and tolerances of a customer's factory floor. "The grinding manual work required just to prove a single design can be built and won't fail is a problem we aerospace engineers all just accept, but it doesn’t actually have to be that way," said Alexander Ryan, Founder and CEO of VXB. "I know because I lived it: VXB was born when I had a complex thruster to design on a shoestring budget, so I taught software to do the proving. When exploring a thousand high-fidelity variations costs no more than testing one, the only limit left is the quality of an engineer's questions, and we are scaling that leverage for the entire industry."
That design freedom also unlocks supply chain sovereignty. Buying a critical component off the shelf means renting someone else's part, price, schedule, and sourcing decisions. Because VXB optimizes geometry and materials together, a manufacturer can design the part itself, build it on its own equipment, and when a material turns scarce or restricted, redesign around a substitute that holds the same performance, something no spec-sheet swap can do. A supply shock becomes a design parameter instead of a program-stopping problem, and the capability has drawn early commercial and defense interest alike, along with paying customers.
At a major aerospace manufacturer's R&D center, component placements the software first proposed have become standard practice among its satellite engineers, and that customer has proposed to bring the platform to a flagship deep-space program. Separately, a mega-constellation startup founded by ex-SpaceX engineers signed as a paying customer after its lead engineer recognized, in VXB's output, solutions to problems his former team had spent years chasing.

VXB’s intentionally lean round follows a $1.2 million pre-seed led by Jelix Ventures and approximately $2 million in non-dilutive Australian government grants. The company will use the new capital to scale its Los Angeles engineering team, expand enterprise onboarding across defense and commercial customers, and extend the platform to new classes of complex components.
